Calm Before the Storm:Destinies Converge

A faint boom of rolling thunder could be heard in the background seconds after the sky was lit up by a beautiful and bright blue streak of lightning. The atmosphere was wet and warm so many people figured that a storm was on it's way and hurried in and by the looks of the hovering clouds and sound of thunder in the distance, they were right. One person was making his way home, however. Sosuke Amenori was seated on a tall water tower, that reached fairly high into the sky, that was located on the south side of Konohagakure no Sato. What he was doing there he had no idea, but he felt as if something had drawn him here, like some sort of entity. He pondered this very topic as he observed the actions of the people below. Mothers were hurrying their children in so they wouldn't be caught in the coming rainfall and some were taking clothes off the line with a very noticeable rush. He looked in the direction where the storm was coming from and indeed they needed to hurry if they didn't want to get drenched. Light then filled the sky once more a few miles away as the thirteen year old Genin looked on in admiration. The boy wondered how something as dangerous as lightning could be so gorgeous at the same time. The way it weaved and snaked through the sky, as if it was alive, was a wondrous sight to behold. His mind then turned to his newly discovered Lightning Element and wondered if he would be able to create a Lightning technique as astonishing as what he was witnessing with his own two eyes. He seriously doubted it, but it was nice to imagine and dream. Maybe this was why he had been attracted to this place? Was he supposed to see this and be inspired to create an equally astonishing Lightning Element technique? Again, he seriously doubted this, for he had just acquired it and it would take time for him to get used to and develop it. Then why was he here? This wasn't the most respectable part of the Hidden Leaf Village and there wasn't really any place of interest here, so why? His mind reeled with questions as he looked up to the water filled clouds overhead. They were getting darker and looked as if they were ready to burst with water, like a dark and fluffy water balloon. He sighed as the wind began to pick up and dust started to fly around from the dirt road below. "Kami, what am I supposed to be doing here?" He asked himself as the now black sky let out another rumble of anger.

Arashi was walking down the street while people were rushing to get all there things inside. He could see the dark clouds hovering above the village and he knew they would bring a fierce storm. Arashi loved storms. He thought they were a lot better than sunny days or windless nights. He loved the raw destructive force they had. He looked up and saw that it started to rain and a some lightning flash through the sky. Arashi jumped up onto a roof and then onto the water tower. Whenver it stormed he would sit up here because he had a view of the entire village and the storm. Even though it was only raining for about a minute Arashi was soaked from head to toe. He was about to sit down when he noticed someone else sitting up there too and it seemed that they didnt sense his presence. Arashi stared at the person on the water tower in the darkness and tryed to figure out who it was. The person was a boy, he was about Arashi's age, and from behind it looked like he had a hiate-ate tied on his right arm. It took him a few moments but then he remember it was Sosuke Amenori. They were in the same class at the academy but they didnt talk to eachother much. "Hello Sosuke-san," Arashi said with a smile. "What are you doing out in this storm? Most people are heading inside to escape it?" he asked as he sat down next to Sosuke.

As the rain began pouring down, Sosuke felt the presence of another near. It didn't seem hostile and the Chakra level was that of a Genin, albeit a bit larger than normal. It felt vaguely familiar, but he just couldn't put his finger on who it could be. It wasn't until he heard the voice of the other Genin, who turned out to be Arashi Namikaze, that he was able to match the Chakra, face, and name together. He looked up and met the crystal blue eyes of his Academy classmate with his own deep pools of black and greeted him with a feint smile and a nod of his head. Although they were classmates at one point, they never really talked much. To be honest, Sosuke didn't really speak with anyone much back then in his Academy days. The other students said that he acted superior and distant, so they didn't bother with him. Some even disliked him. It was a bit lonely, but he was able to cope with it through various means. To keep people away until his self esteem had been boosted was his goal in the Academy days and he had achieved it for the most part. Now that he was a Genin and had a friend in another Genin named Chuy, he was a bit less distant and his fake superiority complex wasn't even needed at times. He soon responded to the blond's question. "I really can't answer that Arashi, because I don't know myself." He said as the cold rain began to mat his hair to his face. "I know this may sound a bit eccentric, but...I felt...drawn here. It's like I'm supposed to be here right now." The Genin explained. "What about you?" Sosuke asked as Arashi sat next to him. Arashi was one of the very few of the other students that he wouldn't mind having to team up with. He displayed knowledge and strength and Sosuke really respected that.
